Danami is a rapper from Detroit, MI and a graduate of McNally Smith College of Music in Saint Paul, MN. His lyrics are reflective and optimistic. Rap gets a bad rap sometimes because of the "gangster" sub-genre that promote drugs, hating, or killing people. Danami promotes none of these.
'Success Is Intentional' is a concept album with an introspective emphasis. The songs deal with post-college life and its challenges (romance, childhood, society, anxiety) and sample tasty old-school soul. Fellow McNally Smith alumnus Cassondra Meyer and Big Soj are also featured.
